Frequently Asked Questions

How do I merge multiple Word documents into one?

Simply drag and drop two or more .docx files into the upload box or click to select them from your device. Use the "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons to adjust the sequence of your documents. You can also toggle whether a page break should separate each file. Click "Merge Documents", and once processing is complete, click "Download Merged Document" to save your combined Word document.

Are my documents uploaded to a remote server?

No. The entire merging process executes 100% locally inside your web browser using JavaScript and HTML5 File APIs. Your documents, embedded media, and personal data are never uploaded to TryDoku servers or any third-party cloud service, ensuring complete privacy and compliance with enterprise data policies.

Will formatting, images, and tables be preserved?

Yes. Text styling, font formatting, paragraph alignments, tables, hyperlinks, bulleted/numbered lists, and embedded images are preserved. The tool reconciles internal Open Packaging Conventions (OPC) relationship IDs, numbering definitions, and image parts so that assets from later documents do not collide with or overwrite styles from the first document.

How are page breaks handled between merged documents?

By default, the "Insert page break between merged documents" option is enabled. When checked, the tool inserts a page break element between consecutive documents so each file starts on a fresh page. If an incoming document already concludes with its own section break (such as an orientation change to landscape), its section settings are preserved and an extra page break is omitted.
